If you don't already have a gmail account, go to Google and create one. Then, once you have your device, you would create a new BIS account with Sprint via this website:

https://bis.na.blackberry.com/html?b...rint&locale=en

This will forward your gmail directly to the Messages application/icon on your Curve.

Just to reiterate - please do your homework regarding network coverage in the area where you will use your device the most. I had Sprint in Florida for 10 years with no complaints. Moved to NH a year ago and coverage was horrible. Had to switch to Verizon for the coverage. If your carrier has lousy coverage where you will need it the most, the best device and features mean nothing. Ask friends and co-workers that have Sprint and check different sites for reviews.

killacam865,just to add to the discussion,I was on Sprint a couple years back and some of my partners are still with sprint service...If you travel and get anywhere off the main path your screwed in most cases. I would be on a call while traveling on a major highway and would drop a signal come right back and drop again,again,again...very annoying as heck when your on important calls, lots of dead spots thru out .....

Sprint's sound quality is probably the best along with Verizon ...good clear and loud!! AT&T sometimes has a compressed digital sound occasionally..kinda sucs but there coverage is AWESOME when traveling bar none, and the technology is changing! When you do conference calls AT&T is awesome for linking up several callers,Sprint on the other hand can only conference 3 and will tie up your line, plus its kinda cumbersome to link in my opinion!

just a view from another perspective...

Yes. You can use the WAP version. From your BB browser, go to wap.blackberryforums.com (no www).

No, the WAP version of BBF would not automatically appear if you went to the regular url. It's the same for many websites - a lot of them will display the regular version you would see on your computer. However, some do redirect to mobile versions. It's pretty much one of those things where you have to try it to find out.

Alright thanks. So most of the time do you just try the regular site? and then if it doesnt work put wap. in front of it?

Nah, I usually just use the regular site. It doesn't bother me too much.

The regular site can be difficult to navigate if you're not used to using the site.

You could also download Opera Mini (a 3rd party, free BB Browser). It's more website friendly. I've never used it, but I know plenty who do and like it.

You WILL be able to send pictures with Sprint. You just have to email to people. The person you're emailing doesn't have to have email set up on their phone. From their end, it'll appear as a normal picture message. You just have to know what service provider they have.

For instance:
Sprint is: PHONENUMBER&pm.sprint.com
T-Mobile is: PHONENUMBER&tmomail.com
Nextel is: PHONENUMBER&messaging.nextel.com
Verizon is: PHONENUMBER&vzqpix.com
AT&Tis: PHONENUMBER&mms.att.net
Alltel is: PHONENUMBER&message.alltel.com
(replace the & with a @. The forum wouldn't let me post email addresses)

Kind of a pain in the ass. But, as long as they have a BlackBerry, you can send them pics via BlackBerry Messenger. If they don't have a BlackBerry, you shouldn't be friends with them anyway.

I recently switched to Sprint from a regional GSM carrier. Although their Customer Service leaves alot to be desired and I believe that is mostly due to their phone system and the fact that their CS facilities are scattered all over the place. I have learned that if I call before noon EST I do much better with CS. I have also noticed that CS has gotten considerably better in the short 2 months I have had service with them.

The plans are awesome, so much so that my son has also come over to sprint and he has much better coverage with Sprint than he did with Verizon here in rural northern Indiana.

Sprint gives you a 30 day money back guarantee for both the phone and service so I suggest you give them a try before canceling your Verizon account then you can make an educated decision on your move.

Also I have a family Everything plan with 3 lines and am saving a good chunk of money over my old provider. My son has the 450 Everthing plan using a Blackberry and it's only 69.99 w/7pm N&W which is also considerable savings.

All in all I'm very happy with Sprints service, I just watch the time of day that I call CS.
