Default vibrate/tone alert doesn't work

Please Login to Remove!

Last week I downgraded my OS from 5.0 to 4.6.0.304 (at&t) b/c too many probs with 5.0 for me. Now however I'm having a problem with profile/alerts and am wondering if anyone else has seen this.

In a few profiles I have the holstered option set to vibrate/tone (so both should alert), but in fact when I get a msg the device vibrates but there's no tone. I believe I had the same problem when I first upgraded to this 4.6 OS many months ago, but am not sure.

Interested in hearing what you have to say

Handheld OS 4.6 doesn't support simultaneous vibe/tone. It will vibrate first, then tone.

If you want them to happen at the same time, you need handheld OS 5.

Thanks, but I'm not getting even the consecutive tone; it simply vibrates.

Are you sure you have the volume up on the tone?

Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball)

Then you have a setting wrong somewhere... Or your speaker is dead.

Doesn't work even if I have volume set to its highest. And yes the speaker works, since if the device is out of its case it alerts as its supposed to. Must be a glitch of some sort with my device.

Try a battery pull, and if that doesn't work, update the OS to the newest 4.6...

Thanks, tried the battery pull, and am growing weary of OS updates as there's always problems. Thus the reason I downgraded back to at&t's official OS.

but thanks

Finally learned the culprit. After painstaking removing and adding programs one at a time after I received my replacement 9000, I learned that PocketDay is the cause. I've emailed CRS, and he thus far can't explain why this is happening. But there's no question it's PD since vib/ring worked before and after PD install but not while it was on my device. I love PD but also need to have my device ring/vib in the holster. Anyone have any thoughts about what might be happening here.

thanks

problem fixed!!

CRS got back to me and suggested I "try disabling the backlight options in PocketDay settings/utilities" and low and behold, that fixed the issue.

thanks CRS
