Default Security Concerns - Google Sync

Please Login to Remove!

While, I can appreciate the software from google, Im not a fan. Google has far too much reach into your personal information. How long will it be until your calander is loaded with advertisements? Does GSync, cross reference your GPS Coordinates with the location in your calander? How much of your information do you feel comfortable with Google having?

I know, I have my tin foil hat on here, but sureley someone has to share these concerns...??

It sketches me out, and I wont use it.

Ive been procrastinating, but I think its time to get my butt in gear and deploy a US based Funambol Server coupled with some Groupware for this same functionality.

Wirelessly posted (Pearl 8130: BlackBerry8130/4.3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

While Google Sync does not work well for me, from a design standpoint, I'm not sure I should care if they have my GPS coordinates. Plenty of folks use BIS, should we have the same concerns with them?

yes, but it goes entirely beyond just GPS coordinates. Granted this same information could be used to free you from a crime, but some other agency that follows the overly broad wording of legislation may be able to say labell you a "terrorist". Why, for any reason they choose? For this post even. Google gives up Chinese journalists, why wouldnt they give up you?

Do they offer you any bit of encryption what so ever? I saw another thread here asking about it.

My point here is that, GOOGLE IS BAD(not bad meaining good, but bad meaning BAD).
