Default BB Messenger and e-mails not working on 8100

Please Login to Remove!

My friend had an 8100 Pearl that had a broken pearl button. AT&T shipped her a new one and she popped the SIM in and began using it. She is able to make calls, send/receive text messages, and browse websites. However, BB Messenger and e-mails no longer work. Does AT&T need to do something on their end to make those start working or is there something she can do from her end?

Thanks!

It should work with her sim card. What is displayed for network/signal on her device? EDGE? edge?

Also, a new device comes with a new PIN. She'll need to use the switch device wizard or re-add all her contacts in BBmessenger. For email she'll need to login to the BIS website and update her PIN/IMEI for her email.

I just received a reply from her and she realized that she has Verizon instead of AT&T.
It's currently showing 1XEV.

Since it's CDMA and there is no SIM card, will they need to update the PIN on their end for BB Messenger to begin working?

Do you know the link to the Verizon BIS website? I tried verizon.blackberry.com and it didn't work.

BBMessneger should work. However, she will need to re-add contacts or switch them over from the old device.

Where can I log into my BIS account? - BlackBerryFAQ

She should be able to use the "Manage (or Setup) Internet Email" icon on the home screen to update her pin for email.

Ok. Thanks John. I'll wait until I have her phone in hand so I can do this myself. I don't trust her to get it done correctly.

I appreciate the help!
