Hi all im kinda new to the whole blackberry business! i bought a 8900 2nd hand it was on orange when i brought it i had it unlocked 2 days after, i used up my orange allowance and have now put a 02 sim in. This week it has gone off on a world of its own! When u r on the menu, bb messenger or facebook its scrolling ten to the dozen in all directions and its making it impossible to use!! When ur typing its changing ur letters to characters and it comes out making no sense! u cant read facebook threw the scrolling. Any ideas?! is it ready for blackberry heaven!? or a cheap repair?! i love my blackberry and as a mother to 4 kids i cant afford a new one!!! Please help!!!!

First of all, this isn't a text messaging board, and if you really want help, you need to make your post readable. Keep that in mind.

What did you do just before this event began? Did you drop it? Did it get wet?

The first step in any BB troubleshooting is a battery pull. With the device on, remove the battery for 30 to 60 seconds. Replace it and let the device reboot. Did that fix the problem?

Its been bounced a few times since i had it but dont recall it being bounced the morning it happened, i did spill some tea on my lap, it was on my lap a few drops landed on the screen i couldnt see tea anywhere else on it but i could have missed it? battery out reboot done, problem still remains :(

sounds like the trackball is damaged.. scrolling by itself is pretty much limited to the trackball or maybe the keyboard. I'd try to have it fixed if you can find a place that will do that. Might also check craigslist/kijiji to see if someone local repairs blackberrys
