Default UMA Issues - Sometimes works, Sometimes doesn't....

Please Login to Remove!

So I've been following all the boards since I got my BB 8320 from T-Mobile last Saturday and I'm still having some issues. At home, I have a T-Mobile Linksys @Home Router configured in default mode. When I walk into the house, 75% of the time, the phone finds the wifi network, connects and UMA works. Typically after about 15-30 minutes, I'm back to EDGE. If I turn off Wifi and turn it back on, things work again. The entire time Wifi works. I'm using a BES server so I don't have the typical issue and I have the Wifi Preferred option within Mobile network options. I've called T-Mobile a couple of times and yesterday they recommended that I go back to the store and swap to a new device. I did that and I still have spotty UMA service. Any thoughts or do I just need to wait it out until a software upgrade comes out? Thanks!

Find nearest Starbucks and check if UMA drops there after 25-30 minutes. If it does not, the problem is in your router or its location in the house relative to blackberry.

If no Starbucks around just place blackberry near your router and leave it there for 1 hour. Check back and see if UMA is still there. If it is, the problem is weak signal in some places of your house making blackberry drop WiFi and switch to EDGE when you walk there.

Makes those Linksys router range extenders look a little more worth the money now.

Yeah...I just got my Netgear WGXB102 today and tested it out with some "dead spots" in my house with the Curve. Turned off wireless on the main router but left the wireless on on the extender. It did help.

Is there an easy way to setup two linksys routers to work together to get better coverage?

I've never done it but I think it's possible. Google "2 Linksys router bridge"
