Default Can Someone Help :(

i have had my blackberry for just under a year the other day it had full charge and then 20 minutes later it was flashing red. when i got home i charged it all night and in the morning still nothing happened. i bought a new battery and left that on charge all night again and still nothing happened with the new battery. with the new battery the red light would come on then go off. i have been told its a power problem and will have to pay £95 to fix it. is there anything else i could try before spending that money

How are you charging it - wall adapter or via the PC?

Is the new battery the 8900 OEM or did you buy a cheaper one?

Try this first, leave it to charge for several hours.
Then, with the device still attached to the charger, remove the battery for a minute, and put it back in.

Does it boot up? If so, good.
If not, keep it charging and repeat the above procedure every 3-4 hours until it boots up, over a day or so.

If it never does, you will need to use BBSAK to wipe and reload the OS.
