I have my personal BB Curve 8350 set up to synch with my company Exchange Server. I would like to synch it with my personal PC Outlook files (contacts, calendar, tasks, memos).

I've searched this site about synching. My question:

Is there a way to synch my Outlook stuff on my personal PC to my Blackberry and NOT have that data synch to the company server?

I don't want my personal Outlook info to be retained/logged/archived on my company servers.

Is there a way to tell the server to ignore or not synch an entire category of records?

So you're on BES for work? "Synching" doesn't really tell us enough to help you. It's entirely possible that you could be syncing with Outlook/Exchange via USB and Desktop Manager.

I generally recommend that you don't assume that anything on a BES-connected BB is private. Off the top of my head I can't think of any way to restrict wireless sync in a BES environment -- hopefully someone else can pipe up.

Yes, I am on BES with my work. It keeps the BB synchronized with my company Outlook files.

I got Pocket Informant and synched it to my personal PC but it doesn't "override" the built in bb contacts; it just sits beside. And unfortunately, it doesn't get "accessed" when I get a call.

I'm thinking I might see if I can just use BIS with my company for just the email.

The only thing I like about the BB over my Palm 700p was the push email. sigh.
