Default BB PIN messaging... from desktop PC

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any way to BB PIN message someone on your contact list from your desktop?

Example: I am sitting at my desk in front of my computer and my girlfriend is furiously PINing me. I keep having to stop what I'm doing on my PC and pick up my BB to reply. Instead of this tedium, is there a way for me to send BB PIN messages to her from my PC so I can just type back a reply from my PC's keyboard -- and I could see the whole IM conversation in a window on my PC monitor?

I guess this would be similar to how AIM let's you send text messages from your PC using AIM.

Anyone?

Actually there is a program. I'm not at home so I can't share it.

Are you looking for something like this?

Web2Pin - Send a Blackberry PIN message using the Internet

Good Luck!

I tried this and it doesn't come into BB Messenger, it hits the Messages. Might as well just send emails.

Yeah thanks -- but that just sent it as a message, not a BB PIN.

For those who care, if you want to pay $399 or $1,499 to license the application they're selling, you have to install it on a Blackberry. It doesn't run on a PC.

Its designed more for mass dissemination of information, than interactive messaging. $399 lets you message phones you (as a company) own. $1,499 lets you message any BB you know the PIN of. Only would matter for high security communications. Everyone else can just send emails.

No, there isn't.
There is no way to use BlackBerry Messenger with anything other than a wireless handheld. You can't use a PC for Blackberry Messenger coversations.

Why not just get her JiveTalk for her BB. Then she can send you Instant Messages to Yahoo, Google Talk, MSN, AOL, etc. Thats the best method for Computer to BB chat.

That would be taking the exclusiveness out of having a Blackberry.

Does using these forms of messengers us up much data? ie....how much of my monthly data plan can I expect to be used while logged in and idle vs sending and recieving messages?

THanks,

Not sure...I have an unlimited data plan so I never pay that much attention. It does talk to the network every two minutes, though, to keep buddy info up to date.

The OP asked if there was a way to pin message someone from a pc and the program was posted. The thread took on another turn later on asking for bb messenger type of program.

Um, no. It's sent as a PIN message. Scroll into the header on the recipient BB and you'll see "Received using: peer-to-peer" which means it's a PIN message (not to mention that you have to supply the recipient's PIN when composing). Perhaps you meant "not a BBM message"?

Best bet is to use a Jivetalk on the BB and a suitable IM client on the PC as has already been mentioned.

On some services / themes the application we are talking about is called Blackberry PIN (TIM, Orange) and and on some (Sprint, ATT) Blackberry Messenger.
