Default OS: 9000 4.6.0.418 / 4.6.0.247 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.418
Multilanguage; contains English
From simobile (Slovenia)
This will load to any carrier's 9000.

Package Version: 4.6.0.418
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.0.247
* Software Platform: 4.0.0.206
* File name: 9000M_PBr4.6.0_rel418_PL4.0.0.206_A4.6.0.247.ex e
* File size: 114MB

Download here: http://upload.simobil.si/9000M_PBr4....A4.6.0.247.exe

or: http://www.simobil.si/sl/inside.cp2?...linkid=article

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Previous OS version here:

Thanks Bolin

That went from beta to official really quick. Still haven't really found out of it's better than 237?

What, not another official OS?
I just installed .244 two days ago. .244 is great so far - reasonable memory useage, reasonable battery usage, stable, good locking of 3g signals.
I believe that I have run every official OS upgrade since the original Roger's OS (.128?), but will probably take a pass on .247. I cannot imagine that it is a material upgrade from .224. Not worth the effort to get everything working as I like it after an OS upgrade.

Real quick from beta!! The latest current bata is .248.
Kind of wonder how much testing of .247 took place before it became official.

It went official from SiMobil from Slovenia. Are all official versions created equal? Somehow, I have a little more confidence if an OS goes official after testing by a major carrier located in a major country. (or maybe I am upset because I just upgraded to .244).

It is the same OS as the leaked beta, with just different vendor coding in the vendor.xml file.

I installed new os and now I have an app for visual voice mail. Really cool but I have a bold running on TM. App says "provisioning is unsuccessful ...contact your service provider". Any suggestions on how to fix this????

Why are these two latest "official" releases not actually found on the RIM site? How official are they really?

Verizon hosts their own site as well and their 'official' OSs aren't listed on the RIM site. Neither does TMobile.

RIM doesn't host all carriers' OS files.

When installing this ROM, do you have to delete the vendor.xml file or is it COMPLETELY unbranded? Also, will MMS/MediaNet settings have to be configured or is it stored on the sim?

This is known issue with all releases from 219 (with the exception of 245 I think) on. You have to remove the VVM files from the java folder prior to installing the os. Do a search on for "remove visual voicemail" and you should find the answer (sorry I don't have sufficient posts to posts links).

Wirelessly posted

I am on .244 with Rogers (two days)so am unlikely to upgrade to .247 so soon. .244 has been working well so far with good memory management, battery life and good 3g reception.
I am on bes and have been reactivated automatically. Instead of using the loader.exe file noted at the beginning of this thread, I have used desktop manager 4.6 on a computer on the same network as the bes.
