It is locked to the PIN of the device and all upgrades are included. If your device is stolen or broken with proof they might transfer the lifetime license.

Maybe I'm a bit lost, but for those Canadians who have got it to work, is that via Garmin's website using correct information or just substituting "other" information as posted before?

Yes...it's $99 for just the one time. You're paying for the code, but downloads the maps to your phone as you move around.

I had purchased Garmin for my BB Bold. After a while, I could not activate the software. Asked Garmin expert and they said that activation need Mobile network, not WIFI. I am using an un-lock fone therfore mobile network is impossible.

It does go out of date - its for that phone only. How often do you change phones? I much prefer Telenav to Garmin. Has their customer service improved or does it exist?

Try getting it from handango, there is a coupon for 15 or 20% off floating around the web. I have a few Garmin products and no problems with customer service. I don't have the BB version of the software as I'd rather have standalone for navigation.

I have been using Telenav for a long time and on all of my previous BB's. I know it's 9.99 a month, but I need to be convinced first before I will swap.

two days ago I installed Garmin Mobile version 5.0.2, since then I get an error mesage every time the Bold start to calculate a route (this is when when you select "start navigating" to any point of interest), I called Garmin Cust Serv Dpt and speaked to various service reps regarding this, we tried several things to correct the problem but did not work, at the end of the day technical people from Garmin told me that there is a problem with the application (at least working with the ATT Blackberry Bold / Garmin MObile ver 5.0.2), Garmin is currently working to correct the problem, they will let know when it is fixed, anyone in the same situation? Att customers using the Bold?

I own a Garmin Nuvi 350 in my truck, have had it for a year and am absolutely thrilled with it. I installed the BBerry trial a couple of days ago and took it for a test drive today...get this...it's better than the standalone Nuvi. Not only does it provide the functionality I've enjoyed with my Nuvi, the built in Google search, gas stations with price listings and direct interface to the Address Book are equally GREAT features. I'm thinking so much so that I'll be giving the Nuvi to my wife and signing up for Garmin BBerry software.
Now, if we get her the Storm liked we've seriously discussed...we both may end up with the Garmin software on the BBerry. ;)

I have been using version 5.0.1 for a while with no problem on an unlocked Rogers phone on FIDO. Fido uses the same infrastructure as Rogers.

So Is there any gps software that is transfereable(not counting a att navigator)? I tend to break things and seems a little annoying if my bb gets trashed I have to buy another license just to continue to use it. Blargh. Also how much KB/space on the BB does the application take? (Running low already on my bold unfortunately ~14mb on battery pull [.167])
