Just an fyi...

There are a lot of forum users who (myself included) tried .69. I could not get the unit to do a complete backup after .69 was installed. I moved back to .55. There are also threads here on the forum with other issues on .69.

I am liking .69 for my 8320. Much better than .52 on memory but it starts out with 22 MB free then goes to 16-18 MB with nothing open.

Does it fix the BB Messenger contact reset issue? I am on .55 now and still having this issue.

I've got an 8300, used .52 for the longest time, and had .55 on my Curve for a short time before tripping across .69 for the 8300. Painless install, and I admittedly haven't tried *everything* with it so far, but my first impressions of .69 are very good. Seems more responsive and .52 or .55, memory handling seems to be quite good so far.

I'll post more experience with it in the next few days...

Do i really need to delete the vender.xls file i upgraded to 4.5.0.69 today but i forgot to delete the file. i upgraded on a AT&T 8310. should i redo it? does it really matter?

I am just starting to watch this battery issue. On Saturday, I had my 8310 in my pocket as it was raining out. Granted, I did not have it in the holster as it was raining hard and I did not want it in the holster. I only had it in my pocket for maby 2hrs but the battery got down to 20%! I am not sure what I should expect just keeping it in my pocket as it was not on standby. I have been making it through the day ok with .55. I will be paying more attention to the battery life now. I tried .69 but could not backup the device with a full backup.

When in your pocket, do you put your blackberry on standby/sleep? This would be accomplished either by putting it in a case with a sleeper magnet, or by pressing the mute button on top until you see the message indicating that the blackberry is going to sleep...

Without doing that, your blackberry may turn off the display, but it will remain "awake", running down your battery far faster than necessary. When "asleep" (either via magnet, or explicitly putting it in standby mode), you can receive incoming calls, but the blackberry is far more conservative with battery use, and the battery lasts far longer.

When I don't use a blackberry case with sleeper magnet, I ALWAYS put the phone in standby before putting it in my pocket...

Yes I know about standby. But I placed it in my pocket to keep it dry under even an hour. (yes, I said two hours but it was not even that) I charge every night and was surprised to see how fast the battery ran down. I run all day with this 8310 and am on the phone all day with many calls. I just never saw this happen that fast!

less than an hour - yes, that's too fast. I never ran into a battery issue with .52, and I used it quite heavily between phone, web browsing, IM (JiveTalk), RSS (Viigo) and weather (the last 3 running continuously in the background). I didn't have .55 on my Curve long enough to know if it had problems. Guess I'll see how things go with .69 over the next few days...
