I ran into an issue with 1.6 over the weekend. Someone sent me a picture via BlackBerry Messenger, and I tried to upload it to Facebook from within BBM, and it wouldn't. It kept timing out. I then went into my pictures from the device and was able to upload the same picture fine.

I would try to keep with blackberry since they built the app. Maybe hit their forums and see if anyone else has this issue, so a blackberry (RIM) mod could escalate for you! I have had similiar issues, but they have been more geared towards a funny acting data connection and coverage. Check that as well!
