Default new 8330 (sprint) user... need suggestions and help with it please (former palm user)

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to this phone and i like it pretty well... it could be better as i liked the touch screen of the centro and the messaging on the centro more... and i like the period key being placed alone on the centro, everything else is better on the blackberry.

my questions-

what "apps" are must haves?

is there a web browser you all would suggest that may be a bit more "easy" with having the address bar up top all the time instead of going into the menu key to get to it?

to use the blackberry messenger do people need to be registered with it because when i try to add a contact to it it does not work. it seems like an instant messenger of sorts.

the thing with the centro's messenging system was the texts were arranged by contact and you could go back months to view old ones... very nice set up.

You will be very happy with your new curve. The messaging is the only thing you will miss and even that you won't miss in a few weeks. Former centro user also, the curve is just such a better phone. Lots of apps out there get app world and that will get you the most useful ones. A lot of people like mini opera for a web browser. Tried it like default better. Welcome and have fun with your new curve.

Opera i believe has the bar up top

for apps:
BerryBuzz - lets your phone vibrate and ring at the same time also lets you customize the led to different colors depending on if you recieve a call, email, sms, inc.
RobLock - track your phone down if it is lost or stolen
QuickLaunch - shortcut app for setting your side key to popup a menu with shortcuts like "Call John" "Email Joe" "Telenav App"
Profiler - Setup auto change of profiles in the phone ex. Mon- Fri 8-5 phone goes to vibrate other times it is on Loud

press space bar twice puts in a period. Also will put @ symbol in for web adddress in browswer.
bblight- keeps light on for longer and will light when you get a message or tesxt
viigo- News reader
quick pull it simulates a battery pull can also schedule a restart
BB messenger is between Blackberrys only they have to have a data plan. They can also be turned off by BES with a IT policy.
Thats pretty much all I run. Other than my Irish theme. I love my 8330

On a related note - I just bought an iPhone about a week ago and it is the most amazing and intuitive device I have ever laid my hands on. One word: wow.

Sell your bb and get an iPhone - you'll never look back.

Give a look threw the Aftermarket software forum.. Must have Apps are on a user to user basis...

Also depends what you wanna do with your BB, whatever I want my BB to do I make it do

WeatherBug Direct, Viigo, Cram, Data Vault, Texas Hold'Em, my list goes on quite a bit I'll update it later.
