Default BIS Manual Detecting settings

Please Login to Remove!

All,

My employer's Exchange 2003 email server accepts IMAP4, POP3 & OWA connections from the internet. Whenever we configure a BIS account with an work email, it automatically configures it for IMAP4, but we want it for OWA.

I've looked over the BIS documentation found in the Help section of BIS (Sprint's to be exact) and I can't find anything about forcing a manual detection or changing the configuration.

Am I stuck at BIS' autodetection?

I'm on Verizon, so you may see something a bit different. But here's how my BIS would allow me to set up an OWA account:
  1. Select "Set Up Account" from the main BIS page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. DON'T enter a password
  4. Click "Next"
  5. Check the "I will provide the settings to add this email account." radio button
  6. Click "Next"
  7. Check the "This is my work email account." radio button
  8. Click "Next"
  9. Check the "I can access my email account using a Web browser (Outlook® Web Access) " radio button
  10. Click "Next"
  11. Fill in the URL, user name, password, email address, and mailbox fields
  12. Click "Next"
  13. et Voila, theoretically at least

Holy smokes, it worked! Before I posted, I called BB Support @ Sprint and they said I was out-of-luck.

Huge thanks!

That's the key for manually integrating any account with BIS.
