Default GoDaddy Integration Problems?

Please Login to Remove!

I got a notification earlier today that my GoDaddy email was inaccessible to my Blackberry. I have been using the rimimap.secureserver.net configuration for quite some time now and haven't had any problems until today.

I deleted and attempted to recreate the account in BIS using the instructions provided elsewhere on this board, but keep getting a popup that an error occurred attempting to add the account. I can use the conventional method, but that adds the account using a POP3 configuration rather than IMAP.

Any other GoDaddy users having problems?

maybe their imap server is down temporarily for some reason?

you should check their website for statistics or updates.

Last I knew, GoDaddy's support folks don't have a clue about the existence of the rimimap.secureserver.net server. And I can't find anything on GoDaddy's website that announces any sort of outage.

Since it appears to be a Blackberry-specific problem, I figured I'd ask here.

Have you changed your GoDaddy email address password lately? Have someone did it without letting you know?
Have you forgot to pay for GoDaddy service?

Can you login you your GoDaddy email account through their WebMail interface?

I just sent myself email to my godaddy address and received it as expected, instantly.

Even if yours is BlackBerry specific problem, which I doubt it is, then it is your blackberry specific problem.

I hadn't changed my password, and no one else has access to my domain. Since the problem occurred, though, I've gone so far as change my password and delete/recreate my account in BIS, using the instructions posted on numerous BB-related forums. The only access that currently works for me is POP3 using ssl on port 995, mail host mail.godaddy.com. The rimimap.secureserver.net configuration was working when I left Boston this morning, but stopped some time after I arrived in Milwaukee this afternoon.

And while it may be working fine for you, your statistical sampling is no more valid than mine

Spoke with both Verizon and GoDaddy regarding this issue. Verizon is pointing the finger at GoDaddy, and GoDaddy is claiming that they're aware of the problem but are not getting the cooperation they need from Verizon to solve it. So I guess it's time to move my email to Google Apps . . .

considering their advertising campaigns using sex cover up their lack of service, i avoid them at all costs.

there's better and cheaper domain registrars and hosts out there anyways. i currently use 1and1.com. domain registrations and basic hosting + email packages are 30% cheaper for .com domains than GoDaddy.

I havent had any problems with GoDaddy. Call them, in my experience, they have always been very helpful.

Well, I've signed up for Google Apps, reconfigured my GoDaddy CNAME and MX records to point to the appropriate host names at Google, and (if I've read the various blogs and posts on the web properly) should be able to reconfigure BIS for proper push email once the DNS records propagate. So maybe in the morning, I'll be happily getting my email immediately again ;)
