Please Login to Remove!

let me start by giving thanks in advance to all in this awesome forum.
And now to my question, is there any way that i can keep the backlight on the curve 8320 On while i am using the GPS ? It is kind of anoying having to press a key every time i want to see where i am going or when i need to turn. I do use my GPS a lot, almost every day
By the way, i am using Googlemaps for now, will be trying Amaze tomorrow.

Download bblight in the aftermarket section. It will allow you to keep your backlight on based on various factors such as external power. and it's free.

That sounds like a good idea, and i will try it. Its just that i wanted to know if there was a more native way of doing it.

No, bb handheld software does not allow the backlight to stay on for more than 2 minutes to conserve the battery. bblight is the way to go for more flexibility.

Some applications (Verizon's VZ Navigator for example), take advantage of keystroke injection to keep the backlight lit. This is a permission that can be set explicitly in "Advanced Options | Applications | Edit Permissions." Of course, modifying the permission only has an effect on applications that take advantage of it.

Quite a few apps have backlight options. I know Telenav does.

The Nav4All navigation program also keeps the light on continuously

Of course, I always keep my phone plugged in my car when navigating, so battery drain is not a problem...

When I use google maps my backlight stays on, for a loooooong time. I drove home from my girlfriends home last night and it was on the whole time ~15min.
