Did you install it? The file you downloaded? Turn off DM and install the downloaded file.

Can anyone who has downloaded 4.5.0.56 tell me if they are losing their icon layout after a battery pull or reset when using the dimension tday plus theme?
I had this problem using the beta 4.5.0.66 code also.

One of the issues with the media player seem to be fixed from 4.5.0.66 but not all...if using the media player & u receive a text, i get the notification, but the player doesn't pick back up playing the current song (u hafta hit play) On 4.5.0.66 the player would stop when recv'g a ph call or text msg...56 seems to pick back up on current song after disconnecting from a phone call.

The icon issue is a known issue with the Today plus themes on OS 4.5.

Um, you downgraded from 4.5.0.66 to 4.5.0.56? Did you do this on purpose?

You can call it a "beta." However, there's a good chance that VZW or any of the other carriers will release .66 and then it's no longer a "beta." Personally, I'd stick with the newest release unless there is an apparent reason to downgrade. YMMV.

Thanx....that was my intent, but for me, 56 seems to run better than 66.

Here are the few issues that I've seen so far:
* when using headphone jack into aux port on car stereo, when phone call is received, it does not automatically activate the headset profile, which should pipe the audio thru my stereo. Activate headset must be done manually.
*this one was stated earlier...when using music player, if a txt is received, the music player will stop. u hafta manually press play to resume the current song.
* Using the BB Dimension Today Plus theme, icon layout isn't saved if phone is restarted
(have since learned this is a known issue on 4.5)

With all that being said, I will probably fall back to 4.3.0.127, as imo, the upgrades n 4.5 for the pearl, aren't that much & i was happy with the overall performance of my pearl on 4.3.0.127

Good luck everyone.

Wirelessly posted

Ok, just downloaded and finished installing on my alltel 8130. First thoughts, my phone seems peppier in performance. Cool thing I noticed right away, the media player looks a bit different now and now there is an equalizer function. There are lots of presets but no customizable option. Still pretty cool and it seems effective. Question, is 4.5 supposed to have mms now or is that something that alltel still has to implement? Thanks.

I'm 99.9999% sure that MMS is something that your carrier has to allow or not. It's that way with Sprint, anyway. Not sure about Alltel.

Nope. Not yet. Alltel still can't figure out how to make MMS work with the Blackberry.

ya, Alltell is the one holding you back from MMS.

So has anybody tried out the HTML feature on email yet? If so what do you think?

Thanks for posting the link.

Everything worked fine installation wise. Oddly, it looks like it's for BES users only (I know that's mainly a DM 'sync' difference in DM software, not BB firmware, but...). Evidence: Email setup on the 4.5 BB is only for BES (no BIS option). Also there seems no way to choose mailbox & handheld vs handheld only deletes of email. All threads have been read and all options are set to "prompt," Confirm delete set to Yes and either Wireless reconcile on or off---nothing seems to turn the prompt back on, it's delete from both or not.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Welcome to BBF!

Slow down there, whirlwind! It's NOT for BES users only. If you are missing your email setup for BIS you'll need to resend your service books. Go to the BIS site for Verizon and resend them. This will fix your delete confirmations, as well. When the service books are missing or corrupted you can open the email and then scroll up into the headers and it will say "Recieved using: Unknown." After you send the service books all new emails should say your email address instead of "unknown."

If you don't know how to go to your BIS logon page, here are the links:

Where can I log into my BIS account? - BlackBerryFAQ

Also, BES has nothing to do with Desktop Manager software. In fact, most BES users don't even need Desktop Manager software except for loading a new OS.

Thanks. That's what I thought, from all the great info on this board. Oddly, just after posting, I went back and the email set up shows the non-BES (individual email setup) option now (?).

Since most of the downloading here are from non MTS Mobility users (like yourself), is the resending of the service books the only way to bring this feature back?

Thanks again!

Yes, you need to resend the service books. However, if you have the "setup internet email" or "manage internet email" icon (or whatever the icon says,) you can use that to login and resend your service books. It's a simple procedure and any BB user should know how to do it.

Default Alls well

Thanks again. Service books sent from the BB browser (email setup) fixed the problem.

Oddly enough, when my phone rebooted after install, it re-registered itself and the service books sent automagically.
