Default Curve 8330 Keypad is unresponsive

Please Login to Remove!

A couple days ago my keypad became totally unresponsive. There is no moisture damage and as far as I know there have been no drops or bumps or anything that would damage the phone.

Moving the trackball shows the cursor moving over different icons, but pressing the trackball to select them does nothing. When someone calls me the phone will ring and display who is calling, but I cannot answer it because the keypad does not work.

Does anyone know if this is something I can fix on my own?

Thanks!

Pull the battery out and then put it back in.

Thanks. I've tried that, several times, and the same thing always happens. Takes a minute or so to boot up, then it verifies system security, and shows the normal display.
But the keypad still doesn't work...

How long have you had it? If it's been less than a year and it has no damage, you can get it replaced.

Thanks. I've only had it for 3 months, so if no one knows of another way to fix it, then I'll get it replaced under warranty...

That's what I would do. Go to Verizon and they'll give you a replacement on the spot. Although, it will probably be a refurbished one.
