Just to chime in, I'm using T-Mobile + OS 4.5 (the Orange UK Official release) and the mobile YouTube site works just fine. The sync is off with the audio most of the time, but the videos DO load and play without any errors or reboots.

I did the upgrade to 4.5 last night, and I can't hit youtube either. I get the green loading bar in the top right, and then i get "An error has occured attmepting to play media" and a red "error playing" bar in the top right. I've tried on both Wifi and EDGE.......

Everything else seems to be working fine........

interesting observation - i went up to Tampa, FL this weekend and YouTube worked perfectly! When I got back home to Ft. Lauderdale, FL youtube refuses to work again. I guess there is either a tower or service area issue with this. Any ideas?

That is very strange. I was just reading over this thread and I was going to reply with some suggestions.

But the fact it worked in one place but not another makes this harder to pin point. If this were happening to me I would try a few things to see if I could figure it out.

Wipe the phone and reinstall the core OS only. Then test. If it still doesn't work then that pretty much rules out any third-party apps or a corrupted install file. If it does work, reinstall any third-party apps one at a time testing after each one to see if you can figure out which one might be causing a problem.

I'm trying to think of what might cause a problem location-wise but the T-Mobile 8320 doesn't come with GPS built in. Just for the heck of it, let's check the GPS settings. Mine are set for:

GPS Data Source: None
GPS Services: Location ON

You could try messing with those to see if they might have an effect. I don't see how they would, though.

You can't really call T-Mobile technical support and complain since 4.5 is not supported they won't do anything for you. Once 4.5 is released by T-Mobile if it's still not working *then* you'd have something to back you up when you called in.

Default Youtube Vids Working Great

8320 w/ T-Mo
-Installed 4.5.0.52
-Wiped Handheld
-TCP settings are default
Browswer Configuration:
-Browser set at Hotspot Browser
-All Boxes Checked
-Show Images set at On WML & HTML Pages
-Emulation Mode set at Blackberry

Before wiping my phone (including apps) everything was out of wack, I was getting error messages like "uncaught exceptions" and my icons would disappear, but everything is awesome now. It's all working: Youtube vids, html email, video recorder, Docs ToGo!!! WOOT WOOT

Remember to back up your data!
