Cool Text message thread

Please Login to Remove!

New BB user / ex Palm user - loving it so far BUT still learning...is there a way to set up my BB Curve so that any text message coming from "John Doe" is in the same thread? (i.e. only having ONE "John Doe" in my message list)It is driving me crazy to have to search through messages in order to find a specific text from "John Doe".

The BB OS doesn't do this. There is a 3rd party app called BBText2IM that does.

Sanctuary23, welcome to BB forums. Let me know if BBText2IM works for you.
Thanks

That program is great except it still leaves the message indicator on the screen so you have to open the native BB message client and mark everything read to get it to dissappear

i dont know if this is of any help or if i'm answering your question at all, but you can do a search in your messages. go to your messages and then hit the 'menu' button and then go to search and type in as much info that you know that you are searching for, and it will narrow it down as close as possible.

I'm at the same place right now. I had a 755P that was extremely hard for me to let go. Honestly I still love my Treo I was just a little bored with it (I do that easily). So I decided to give the curve a try. I'm loving it so far except a few things.
1. No touch screen... I'm managing though.

2. Threaded/Chat Texts. Anyone coming from a treo knows how convenient the threaded/chat text messages is.

3. All messages in one folder, I know you can filter the folder so that you can just see SMS messages or whatever but it's still a little annoying to have to search through all of my messages to find one conversation. I send about 3,000-4,000 messages a month soo... imagine how many are in there.

So, if anyone knows how to filter or set it up so that the chat's are kept together that would be awesome.

Also is there a way 2 delete multiple messages at a time as opposed to one by one??

I no understand

I have a curve and when I receive a txt from anyone and then enter into a conversation with them i get them all in one text so it is a history of what was said.

You've all got me puzzled now.

this only works for continous messages and new ones from other people don't work in this manner.
I suspect it has somehting to do with them replying to my txt and so on and so on.

lol this is all true. but it's still not like the Treo chat. On the treo your text conversations are seperated by the sender.

So for example, John sends me a text, we go back and forth. That's ONE conversation.

Then Bob sends me a text, we go back and forth. That's ANOTHER conversation.

So when I click on the messages button i can choose either John or Bob and read just messages between my self & John & not have to search through allll of my messages to find something John or Bob sent me or vice versa.

Plus I love the fact that I can read what I just sent the person I'm texting as I'm sending a follow-up text, without having to go to sent messages! (this is especially good because of the 160 character limit & the fact that my memory is terrible!

Hope that makes sense, and clears up some of your confusion
