I called t-mo yesterday and after I got to the Hotspot support was told that here was an outage. However, I see no one else posting about outages and was told yesterday it should be back up this morning. I still have no UMA at home or at 2 different starbucks I've tried. Anyone else experiencing an outage?

UMA is working flawlessly here in Washington, D.C. It may be a regional issue out there.

I've had an issue where I have to turn off the mobile network in order to get UMA. Not sure if it's a global issue or just the hotel I'm staying at.

I was told yesterday that the engineering team was making improvements to help with handover (EDGE to UMA) and that UMA should be back Tuesday. Since it's not for me, I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else is out as well (I am getting the W6.1 error)

I'm having UMA problems in Los Angeles - I called tech support and they said they were down; they didn't mention any system upgrades.

My UMA won't stay connected- Wife has same problem with Nokia. Been round and round with TM techs- Have Linksys TMobile Router- Have latest OS. There was a network issue.

If you turn off Mobile Network does it stay on UMA?

They have had issues all week. I keep calling and it is always down. I have made one call this week since Sunday. My husbands Samsung goes back on Saturday. The service is terrible.

Well, I was never ever able to get UMA again once I lost it. So, they said they could replace my phone as an option. This would be replacement number four. I told the guy last time this happened I replaced the phone, and it still wouldnt come up with UMA and told him I took it upon myself to swap for a new simcard. So I went to the TMO store, swapped my simcard and viola- I have UMA.
I don't run any special apps, or add ons so I have no idea why this is the fix for me, but hey it worked.

It's been said that sim cards older than about 3 years can have difficulty with UMA. Was your sim card old?

Brand new SIM card when I switched to T-Mo in September and got the Curve. The, UMA quit working in late November. That was when we replaced the phone twice, and after that didn't work I got a new sim card that fixed my UMA issue.
This time when UMA quit functioning (I was told there was an outtage at first) they offered to replace the phone again, but I told them what fixed it for me last time, i.e. the SIM card. I went and got a new SIM card at the local t-mo store, and it fixed my UMA issue again.

I'm just curious what the heck is going on with my SIM cards. All three have been brand stinkin' new. Not copied.

I have no UMA since this morning in SF Bay Area when I run diagnostics it says Error Code: W006.1 . Anyone else?

I just called hotspot on 1 (877) 882-7177 and they said this is a known issue since January 25th 2008 and they are working of getting this resolved. They said it may have been going on since before but since January 25th they have acknowledged it.

My wife had the SIM card issue as well (brand new card that come with the device). After numerous troubleshooting attempts it was narrowed down to the SIM. Replaced and she has had no problems since. Maybe the newer ones have been from a faulty batch or manufacturer?? ALthough mine has had no problems at all (....leaves room to go find some wood to knock on...).

Yeah I wonder what happens with the SIM cards. I'm on my third, So I hope it don't eat another one.
