Just tried at a Starbucks and still no incoming calls on UMA. If you're using UMA in the NorthEast, beware, you may not get your calls. I've not received any updates from TMo on this issue.

Aha...another Arizona report. Thanks. I'm guessing that few people know there is an outage since outgoing calls aren't affected.
You can still use wifi for browsing and data, though. Just go to Mobile Network and set Connection Preference to "Mobile Network Only."
Allows wifi for data and EDGE/GPRS for voice.

Since the UMA is not technically region specific, wouldn't it be better for people to indicate the IP of the UMA server their phone is connecting to?
I've had this problem for a week and a half... I keep getting "New Voicemail" indicators, but the phone never rang to indicate the call. Also, I tried to take a call with call waiting the other day and it ended up dropping both calls about 5 seconds after switching to the second call.
According to my router, the IP my phone is connected to ports 500/4500 on is 208.54.3.1. A traceroute makes it appear that the server is connected using att.net (lol) and is in st6wa, so assuming Seattle.

I was told that UMA is region specific for now. It routes through some kind of regional switch.

I called my 8320 from my landline and got a number not in service message. Tried again, then it went through. Sporadic issue for me.

I didn't realize this was such a widespread issue. Since I started the thread, I thought I should toss in an update...
In Phoenix on Monday evening, calls DO seem to come in via UMA. However, my faith in this whole system is rattled.

I am told by people that call me that they are getting a mix of "Number not in service" and calls just going directly to voicemail as if my phone is off. I wonder if they just have a surge of new UMA users and haven't built up the capacity for it yet.
This is also happening to my friend in Mesa, AZ, also on Cox. I told him to switch the "Connection Preference" to "Mobile Network Preferred" as was referenced previously and a call came through about 10 seconds later.

Please call in to TMobile. They need to know how many issues there are and where you are. Right now it seems there are problems in the Northeast and in Arizona. Someone above said Florida was fine. It's great to get help here but if they don't know the problems are widespread it'll take much longer to get it resolved.

As of yet I have not experienced a UMA issue during all of this. I am in Southern California.

If you are having an issue, call 611 and ask for "HotSpot @ Home Data Device Tech Support."

I just want to confirm that changing this setting will still allow data connections at WiFi speed? It knows to redirect calls only ?
Thanks!

Ya... If you set that.. then go in to "Manage Connections" and "Services Status." You will see that the BlackBerry stuff still goes over wifi, and the voice services are mobile network.
I just called the guy at the department listed in my last post. He said he was resetting my account on the UMA server and hopefully that would fix it. I went from regular CSM to BlackBerry Suport to Hotspot@home Data Device support and while the BlackBerry rep said she had the same issue the past couple of days, they all said they had not heard of any customers with the issue.... CALL THEM!

Yes, I had my device set to "mobile network only" all day to be sure I didn't miss any calls. Data went over wifi and calls came over EDGE. That worked great.
Anyway, I just got off the phone with TMo CS again tonight. Went straight to PDA support who sent me to UMA support. Very nice lady, BTW...she did all the regular stuff. Sent an update, had me reboot, etc. Of course, since I had her on the phone, I couldn't even get UMA to come up-making me look like an idiot! We finally decided to pull the battery AND sim card and turn it back on. I fiddled some more to get UMA to come up. Once UMA (finally) came up, she called me and, lo and behold, the call came through.
So, not really sure but it *seems* as though pulling the sim card did the trick. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that as I have fixed many other BB's with that trick. I guess I figured since I wasn't alone with this problem that that didn't even cross my mind. Either that or they fixed it while I was on the phone with them. Regardless, mine is now working.
Try pulling the battery AND sim card and see what happens.

Well, this problem is back again today. Tried removing the battery and sim card again and it's still a no-go. I missed a very important call because of it (thinking it was fixed I left it on UMA.)
No incoming calls via UMA in Ithaca, NY.
(going to lunch...will call TMo CS later.)
