This is an 8100 OS, NOT 8130!

Can't scroll down
Hey,
I have a quick question. I was having problems scrolling down. At first I thought it was a hardware problem as i could scroll up and across without problems. A firend told me he had the same problem with his pearl and that after updating the OS the problem was solved.
I did the update yesterday but things didn't change. Still not able to scroll down but I can scroll up and across.
Did anyone ever heard about a problem like that? Or do you think its just the phone that has the problem?
Thanks
Rob

Yeah - I've had that problem - the one way scroll. The track ball was dirty. Pop your trackball and clean it (there are posts to be found all over with directions). That may solve your problem.
Changing topic to a previous post:
I've also seen the camera white screen - goes a way after a sec. You have your SD card in? Is there room left?

Hi,
I have a BB8100 with a carrier from Latin America.
If I go to my carrier's download page for OS it shows a 4.2 OS and not this 4.5.
Will be a problem if I install the new OS to my BB?
IS this what deleting the vendor .xml file works for??
Thanks

Yes, Efex, also, any OS for your phone can be used, as long as it's for that model, regardless of Vendor.

I am at a total loss as to why this camera problem is happening. I guess I'm gonna have to go with my final option of just going back to the .55 OS.

I had the exact same problem and it was software related. For me, the alarm was going off and I got a phone call or something at the same time, so instead of hitting snooze or dismiss, it just went away and I could no longer scroll down. My gf has a pearl too, so I stole her ball and it didn't work either, so I figured the OS was just freaking out or the pickup sensor on the board was f'ed. I had to keep hitting Hide Icon till I could get the alarm thing to the top row and then turned it off. In retrospect, a battery pull or even a restore from DM would probably take care of that.

leroymcc, documents to go are a suite of applications that can open mainly Office files, like powerpoint, and Word.
On a non-related note, does anyone know how to add Chinese language display (don't care about Input), to the OS? I had one before that displayed my Chinese character songs in the media player, but in this one it shows up as gibberish again :(.

I believe we'll just have to wait for the east asian version to catch up. There's an older 4.5 one floating around but the camera is screwed on it as well as it not being as responsive as .69. I'm looking forward to seeing it around too and it would be great if someone on these forums could give us a heads up when it's out.

Alright, so I tried uninstalling the 4.5 OS from my computer and getting rid of all the files that came along with it, and then downloading and installing it again, but now it doesn't come with a vendor.xml file and its still ot identified as an OS on my DM.

Going back to .55
My camera will never get to working again with .69, so I'm going back to .55.
Do I just delete .69 from my PC, then do everything like I was upgrading to a new OS?

Hey there,
After upgrading to this OS, I noticed that the 8100 is extremely degraded. The camera caused it to freeze and I had to reboot and it took forever to reboot. Even going into the menu causes this to reboot.
Anyone else had this problem and/or successfuly troubleshooted it?
Thanks,
--Phil
