It's actually hysterical that Alltel hasn't even announced a launch yet or that no one has an rumours on engadget about this. Alltel is just so far behind that no one, even Alltel, seems to care to create a buzz about their products. Don't they realize that it's the products that drive this train nowadays?

Sure, I see the massive advertising blitz, but I bet there net income appreciates more with more data and phone users, than the folks buying AT for "my circle" and buying a piece of crap $10 phone. The subscriber acquisition cost/net income ratio is terrible for those little users. That's why the big boys focus more on the higher-end devices.

By the way, the geniuses at Alltel still have not said anything about a release that is to be 4 days away...

I would hope soThe company I work fdor has Allel as a crrier. They ar still stuck with 7250's but the president wants to eqip all 1e of the forman with BB's would ther be a bulk discount for buying mor units at once? I'm on T-mo thogh Tmo releases hardware a lot faster thab Altel dose the only rel competition is Vorizen. It could also be that altel is matching vorizens release dat with the 8800 series mnan Al tel obviously dos not like to keep up with the hardware an yes 7250'd ar freaking slow compared to 8700Rs that would blow if altels 8700E dose not get the prcesser

The 8703e does not use the following processors. The intel processor for GSM is the fastest that's for sure, but the 8703e for CDMA won't be using it. The 8703e for CDMA won't be using the same processor as the CDMA 7250. So what will the Processor be? It will be very close if not same as the CDMA 7130e.

I spoke to our Government Alltel guy today. He says November 22nd looks like the day for sure. He said he doubts it will be pushed back.

Still nothing on their website and no release. I am starting to think this is not going to happen any time soon. These people are total idiots. If they don't have it by December 1, I'm switching to Verizon.

Looks like US Cellular added it to their site. I'd switch to them, but can't stand the chick that does the commercials

Alltel will release the 8703e on the 22nd. It will offer GPS by TeleNav for $9.99 a month. This app is preloaded. But you will need to sign up for the sub if you would like to use it. This is ALLTEL's first GPS-Nav phone.
