I'm a long time BB user 7290; 8700; 8100; 8800; 8310 - back to the 8700!


As an out-and-out business tool churning the never ending stream of email you just cant beat the 8700 keyboard - what comes after the 8700? When does that get upgraded but keeps the same form factor?

Haven't changed yet. I like the Curve, but don't want a camera. Do agree about 8700 keyboard, however.

Yep still using my 8700. Want a newer BB but not quite ready to get rid of my trusty 8700 and love the keyboard. Secretly I wish they woul use the 7290 form factor again with 8700 insides!

No love for the new devices? I have had a few more quirks with my 8320, but I do love the form factor a lot more. I do agree, though, that the 87xx devices are rock solid.

Amazingly, I've never used an 8700, but know plenty who still have theirs, for all of the reasons already posted. Love my 8230 thoug, and would have a tough time adjusting to the thicker 8700 body at this point.

If I could get the better voice quality of the 83xx and 88xx series in the 8700 form factor I would consider going back... If RIM stuffed the guts of a Curve into an 8700 shell there would be plenty of room for a huge battery and a few gigs of flash memory. Throw in a high quality speaker phone and I would be happy to go back to the larger unit.

i have had all qwertys from 7290 on....8700 was a great device and huge step forward from the 72xx series and it is indeed a workhorse but the curve is the best overall device to date IMO.

i was a skeptic on the trackball and i ate my words...

Yep, with the extra space then we will have both GPS and Wifi in one unit
