9500 is fully GSM
9530 is GSM or CDMA capable (you can switch between the two)

I liked it before .148 but now I love it! I have had no reboots for almost 2 weeks since I upgraded the OS and all else is working fine.

if the storm worked it would be the best phone ive ever had, but when it takes me 2 minits to select the letter i want when texting then clearly the storm does not work. also the ocasional crash and the general slowness make it almost unuseable at times. i didnt return it within the 30 days becouse i hoped that the os update would fix the problems, sadly thay dont fix anything for me so now i'm stuck with this phone for two years, its a crime.

After loading .148 and putting a SIM card behind the battery for a better clicking screen, I was actually quite happy with my phone.

Until the screen stopped registering clicks....but people keep telling me that was from moisture. We will see tonight.

I could not agree more. I got mine about 4 months ago and I am now getting use to the keyboard, but I do not text a lot. I find that hitting the letter straight on helps a lot. When I try to stretch my thumbs across the keyboard I get the wrong letter. But who cares overall by and far as phones and smart phones go this is the best one ever. I love the storm and I personally think it is better than the iphone. I do wish that blackberry had apps like iphones do, but that will come. You cannot beat blackberry service for business.

I like my phone. Took some tweaking to get the thing stable and usable however and this is what turned off alot of people.

It's up to you. Verizon gives you 30days to try a new phone. Maybe you would like the new Tour?

I enjoy my Storm and am quite happy with it. Especially with the newer OS revisions. The large screen is fantastic and I appreciate not having to use a pointer or trackball to surf or scroll through email. It's not a device for everyone though and I certainly type faster on a physical qwerty keyboard. Is it perfect? No, more of a work in progress. We'll see what future hardware revisions bring.

I agree, the phone is wonderful. I like the click screen much more than the iPhone, I find that I don't make as many mistakes when typing. As well, there are plenty of tips on this site to tweak your keyboard and screen so that the phone is more responsive and mistakes are less common. With the latest OS upgrades the phone is gaining functionality and usability by leaps and bounds, and with rumors of tabbed browsing in the mix it can only get better. The only issue that you could have is that Verizon is very slow to release updates but with the latest official release it's not so much of a problem compared to waiting for previous builds because this one actually works well. But there is always the option to install a leaked OS if you so choose. Like other users have said before, it's not perfect but it's getting better. I'm routinely given pause when considering exactly how much I can do with this phone, I really do love it.
