You don't need to connect your phone until you are ready to load the OS.

No problem, that's what we're here for

I believe step 2 tells you to go to a certain directory. A lot of times people over look the Common Files part of that directory.

Let's start from the beginning. Go to Add/Remove programs and remove the OS.

Then double-click on the file you downloaded and saved to your desktop and you should get the install wizard for BB device software 4.7... Run through the wizard.

The delete the vendor.xml file, connect your device to the PC, run Loader.exe

No, you won't need the S/MIME package if you're not on a BES. I would install the attachment service, for messages with attachments.

That's fine. It will go through the install. It could take up to an hour, do NOT disconnect the device until it completes.

No you don't need that.

Be patient and let it run.

Reboot your device and your PC and try again.

The app loader told me congratulations the OS was loaded successfully. So i disconnected the phone and now i have a white screen with an hour glass and nothing seems to be happeneing.

i didnt run desktop manager at all.

ok....i believe it is booting up now. i see the clock thingy now and a little blue bar at the bottom moving ever so slowly.
