I am on a BES, but when I connect to DM all I get is my pin number at the bottom. What do I need to do to get my Desktop Manager to be online with the BES server to get automatic reactivation?

Is this an issue of the platform and version of BES? If so, do you know what platfrom your BES is running on and what version?

DM has to be running on a work computer or a computer with a VPN connection to your work network. DM needs to be able to find the Exchange Server through the MAPI profile you have in your mail client (ie - Outlook).

DM is installed on my work computer with my Groupwise client running just fine.

However, that may be my problem. We are not running an Exchange Server, we are on Groupwise. Is there anyway to be online with a Groupwise Server?

I wish I could help but to be honest, I have never seen a Groupwise server let alone a BES Server that accesses it. With that said, when you installed DM on your workstation, did you select the install for a BES user? I forget the options that are presented when installing and remember there was one for a BIS/Redirector setup or a BES setup. When I selected the BES setup and ran DM for the first time, it found my MAPI settings in my mail client and connected on its own to the mail server. I would imagine that as long as you have DM installed properly, DM should find your mail server. But I do not know for sure since I have no experience with Groupwise.

Try re-installing DM & ensuring that you check off that you will be using a BES and that mail will be re-directed by the BES. Once that is set, connect to outlook (vpn or rpc/http) and launch DM
