Default typical 507 error. not sure what firmware to load.

Please Login to Remove!

it seems as if ive got my hands on a pre-production javelin.
reason being is its got the green keyboard as opposed to the red keys which are released by rogers.
now i wiped the javelin with jl-cmder and ive got the 507 error. but im having trouble loading any verion of o/s. the latest for the javelin will not load. it just says the software is not made for the device connected.

the device info that jl cmder is giving me is.
Hardware Id: 0x84001503
PIN: 0x206fe2c6
OS Version: 0x0
VM Version: 0x406001b
Radio ID: 0x0
Vendor ID: -1
Active WAFs: 0x0

does anyone have any idea what i can load. i would be happy with even a beta o/s. just as long as i can get it up and running.

Vendor ID -1 is definitely a pre-production model.

Good luck.

Why does everyone use JL_Cmder??????? Why? Why? Why????

It's a great application WHEN NEEDED but one of the most overused applications out there!

I've never attempted to load an OS on a preproduction model. You're a bit on your own unless someone else who has done it can come along and help.

How's it doing now?
Preproduction models frequently can't be updated to the latest version...
Check with whoever you got it from for assistance.

Sorry, you will NOT be able to load any OS using DM on that device. You need another tool which is not available to the public. You are out of luck.

i spoke to the person i got it from. he is also unsure of what o/s to load on it. i currently have my hands on 2 javelin. one preproduction and one rogers one. before i wiped the pre production, i went to the about screen and it said that it was a different blackberry device as opposed to the javelin i have from rogers. one said it was the 8900 the other was listed as 8400xrimo.....etc i cant remember exactly what it said.

as of right now im sort of stuck with a paperweight until a solution is found.
an o/s installs i try on the 507 error screen just result in
the DM saying the software is not designed for the device currently connected.

does anyone know if there is anyway to force an install? i was thinking that would be the next best alternative. because the only o/s the DM is actually trying to install is 4.6 from my other javelin.

You're basically SOL. Can you load a OS to the pre-production model? Yes, but it has to be a particular build. It's going to have to be one of the early betas, I'm assuming probably somewhere around .46. But .46 is buggy as crap and not even worth loading. So basically you have a paperweight unless you know someone who works at RIM who will stick their neck out for you.

Donate it to Martin Fields (Overlay Plus) so they can get their screen protectors produced. I just asked them yesterday when they would have the Curve 8900 products ready and they informed me they don't even have their hands on a unit yet.

Since this is bricked donate it so we can all get the best screen protectors available!
