there is no configuration settings on my bb9630.no browser as well.how do i install a browser

If your phone is a company phone it may be restricted by your IT department. If this is not a company phone then where did you get it? If from another user check to see if it was a company phone.
Most company's restrict users from doing things to the phone and if your caught you jeopardize your job.

If this is the case leave it alone. If not then search for remove IT policy on this forum.

Thought of that but when he said there was no configuration settings on the phone my thought went to IT policy but your right, maybe no data plan.
