My advice is that if your device is working fine and you have no issues or problems, why try to fix it? Worse case you could really screw it up. Best case, keep what you have and keep it purring along.
I am probably in the minority, but I never recommend an OS upgrade for the heck of it. If the device isn't broken, don't try to fix it.

I see your point, but what are all thethe OS upgrades available on here for? Is there any benefit such as new look, more apps, etc? Again I'm new to BB so I don't know these stuff.

improved battery life, improved memory, usually "behind the scenes" stuff.
Its not a "visual" upgrade

So the only way to find out if I try it out or are there facts per OS upgrade?

Yeah, upgrade to the new OS.. if you don't like it, you could always downgrade back to your old OS.

same way you upgrade.
you uninstall the new OS, install the previous OS.
do exactly the same in Desktop manager, and click the YES (or ok, im not sure) button when it warns you its a downgrade.

you should do an upgrade to .297 because it has major improvements in memory management and battery life. Also, it gives you visual voicemail. To downgrade, you don't even need to use desktop manager, just follow the direction in the post where the link for the downloaded os is. As midnight said, it will say downgrade during the process.
