Is there really any real difference between the two? .282 has vvm and the 2g/3g switch. Can comeone enlighten me here

Yeh .282 and .297.
.282 is exactly same as .297, cept .297 is officially released by AT&T.

This means they will expect you to have this/upgrade to this when troubleshooting over the phone, as they believe it fixes alot of issues with their particular Bold's.

And .297 has better memory management, atleast for me because with .282 i was always in the low 20s with app memory now I have 30+!
