Default 3G probs on T-mo UK

Please Login to Remove!

well...
i never use 3g for this reason.
it never keeps connection.

basically, when updating software, it puts it back into 3g&2g mode, so i have 3g for while. usually about 30 minutes in, it goes. completely. down to GPRS.
if i take the battery out and reboot, then 3g comes back and it stays, again for 30 minutes.

according to t-mobile i am in an excellant coverage area, so having 3g shouldn't be a problem. but it seems that it just doesn't want to keep to using 3g.

if i turn off and back on, that doesnt reactivate 3g, nor does turning to 2g only and back to 3g&2g, it only reactivates itself after a battery pull.

anyone know whats going on?

Hi, yeah having a few issues with T Mobile UK aswell. Just got the bold a few days ago but friends have been complaining about missing calls and the missed call text messages.

Just got few missed call texts today and I always notice that it keeps switching between 3G & GPRS sometimes while just idle at the home screen and sometimes while web browsing.

After speaking to T Mobile their solution was to disable 3G

I suppose I can change the setting to 2G only but the way I see it I am paying for 3G so I would like to at least have the option to use it.

I am more concerned about the missed calls to be honest!

Could this be linked to the recall of the Bold on Orange months back due to software issues and T Mobile's delayed release due to similar issues.

seriously? their solution was to just turn off 3g?
haha....well they might be well priced, but they are probably the leader of idiots in the UK networks.

I havent had missed calls, cept when my phone was off the first few days and i got that missed call message.

Im not sure, surprisingly though, T-mo have released the latest version OS in the sticky above, on their update site. i am surprised.
Blackberry

the thing is with 3g, when ihad my nokia n95 and to be fair, rarely used 3g then, but it would always stay connected unless i didnt have any signal. now the bold, will connect for so long and disconnect after the same amount of time, whether my signal is high or not.
almost like a t-mobile timeout from the 3g network. *sigh*

oh well, 3g drains the battery, wi-fi is better, and if you dont have it in the middle of town, or on the motorway, GPRS isnt that bad.

I am also using tmobile uk and bb bold, but dont really have this problem... it does occasionally switch to gprs.. but most likely due to poor reception like at home etc... when outdoor or in the office (central london) its always on 3g

strange. i can understand if it drops and then comes back, because thats to do with signal, and i accept that, but even if i move to a part of the house with almost 5 bars of signal and stay there for like an hour, it never reconnects.

Yeah that's the issues I've been having earlier today as well. Also had a few "call failed warnings" when dialling out earlier today and a dropped a call. However maybe this "blizzard" outside had something to do with it lol.

I have switched it to 2g for now and as you rightly mentioned the speed is not that noticeably slower.

Must be this this issue when switching between the networks. I assume that at some point during the switch is not connected to any network
