Default HTC EVO 4G - Goodbye RIM

Please Login to Remove!

I have heard of this phone for a while but man they hit me over the head with this one. I love my tour but this is a phone worth whatever the price is not like the 500 dollars for a tour. The EVO is just too damn sexy, fast, and everything else.

I know blackberry has a good keyboard and battery life but this is just too much. I live in miami so hopefully 4g is here soon. Stupid att is the only isp here and they only offer 1.5 mbps I can use this phone as router also.

RIM will never get it together, I gave up hope a long time ago. it's 2010 and browsing the web on this phone is more pain than it's worth.

When the "coolness factor" wears off, you'll be back. Until then, enjoy

How can you say goodbye when you were never here?

This requires intelligent thought.

Because you quack a lot of people up.

Because the guy who named it didn't have a BlackBerry.

Depends on how long they have been in the sun and ripened.

These are answers in search of a question.

Yup.

At the pace RIM moves, probably won't be out till end of this year or maybe next year.

Not necessarily. Fast data rate, doesn't mean he'll consume a lot of data.

RIM has very little time to get it's act together before more and more people start thinking this way. This will be especially true in the consumer segment.

Lol uh huh. Maybe it would help if people got a device that fits them instead of going with the latest fad.

Can say the same about iphones.....

As a user of both the 9700 and the iphone 3GS, I think I can speak to this. The iphone is no fad, make no mistake about it, it is the future of mobile computing. And by this, I don't mean just the iphone, but other devices such as Android and WebOS and that are more computer then phone. The BB is great at messaging, but that's all it really good at, right now. For some, that may be enough, but as the market is evolving, more and more people want more then just messaging and will be looking beyond what RIM is delivering.

build quality is good today?

I just don't have the same brand of Koolaid.
You are a devoted Apple servant. That's your choice.

When you make statements like "the future of mobile computing" you sound, and act, like a shill. You can't deny it, as you've been on this same bandwagon for months.

No facepalm - we just disagree.

The facepalm was because you didn't read my post.

it is the future of mobile computing. And by this, I don't mean just the iphone, but other devices such as Android and WebOS and that are more computer then phone.

Yes, the iphone does fit this category, but so do others that I mentioned.

WebOS? Are you kidding? By bringing Palm into the discussion - they are DYING - it doesn't help.

What ever happened to the Droid. It was the flavor of the month - yet another BlackBerry killer. Now? Not so much.

BTW - I ordered my iPad. Not too sure why - but I'm sure someone will order it.

Don't get me started on Palm, they could have been so great. Lunk just got himself the Palm Pixi and loves it.

That's great. When they are in bankruptcy in 6 months, it won't matter.

Palm was great. They lost first mover status.
