Default No messaging services? Services Blocked? Help!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I updated my BB to the latest version. I didn't have a messaging service, becuase the proper service books weren't installed. I sent the service books from the BIS page, some of them came in but the main one for messaging didn't. Not really sure what to do. Does this take time (more than an hour?)

It may be relevant or irrelvant, but I activated my actual BB services with my provider only about 2 hours ago. I got my email instantly, but than they failed to work, and sending a email resulted in the error message "Services Blocked."

Not sure what to do..

Thanks.

BB 7290, Provider: Optus Australia. BB Version: 4.1. Service Type: BIS.

Typically the Service Blocked error means you need to contact your service provider. There is something not configured on their side. Was this BlackBerry working previously, or is it new? Do you have a BlackBerry data plan?

It was working immediately after my Blackberry Plan (Data plan) was activated. However, 5 minutes later, no dice.

Now I have a browser after a Handheld wipe, but no messaging services.

I only activated my services about 3 hours ago (first time ever).. so it may take a while to actually setup over the network?

Cheers,

Hi,

regarding to your inquiry, everytime you send a message you get an "X" marked and when you open it there is an error which is "transaction error - service blocked". The next step that you should do is to contact your service provider and have it provision to their system and if it's provisioned properly go to BIC site and log in to your account then send a service book or if you haven't created one, do so.

the service book missing is the "Web client [C/MIME]".

Regards,
Mike

Thanks.

I'll call them tomorrow morning. I've tried to send the service books from the BIS site but that service book doesn't come in.

So when I call tomorrow, what do I need done exactly?

Thanks again,

Try Options > Network > press scrollwheel, Start Provisioning.

When you call thme just make sure that they have activated provisioning on your account for data services

some carrier's won't allow thet services to work until they've verified that they requested the activation

Well after two hours on the phone yesterday leaving to nothing, I called them today again. I got a good customer support rep. Problem fixed within 10 minutes. We couldn't figure out what the exact issue was, until he saw that the account was in BES mode, not BIS. One switch, and all my emails are here! Yay!

Cheers,

Good, atleast you know what the real cause of your problem. Always make sure that your phone is properly provisioned and it's activated to the right service. I think d_fisher, want you to do is to perform "register now". It is located to Options > Host Routing table > click trackwheel > Register Now. Anyway, enjoy!. :D

Great information!

I deactivated my T-Mob BB over the weekend, and when I reactivated Sunday night, it wouldn't access the network or send/retrieve emails.

I took the 'Start Provisioning' advice, and then resent Service Books, and it started downloading my emails within a minutes. It's now a happy BB again

Thanks to all for your provided information.
