With my 8830 I could press the on/off on the top left of the device to make the screen brighter while reading email or using any program. Of course it doesn't work on the tour. Is there a way to make it bright while using. It seems to go from medium to bright many times during use for no apparent reason.

I know I can make it brighter all the time in options but that's not what I am seeking. I want a shortcut like my 8830 had.

this is because if auto dim in options - screen/keyboard is set to yes, it will automatically dim depending on light.
Its recommended to preserve battery life that this is set to off/no

Anybody know where the sensor on/in the Tour is that helps the Tour determine how much brightness to use. I often wonder if my finger or thumb was covering the sensor and confused it in displaying different brightness

On the Bold its where the LED light is.
Id imagine its the same place on the tour.
