Default Merging BB and Outlook Contacts with BES

Please Login to Remove!

I want to merge the contacts that I have on my BB with those in Outlook. I am using BES. I'm worried of what might happen if I simply turn on the option to sync wirelessly. Many of the contacts are duplicates and some exist only in Outlook or only in the BB.

What I would hope for by simply turning on the wireless sync is that any contacts appearing in only one location would now be in both. Then, with all those that have the same name, I would be satisfied if the entry that was saved latest wins. In general, all the entried in my BB are newer, so even if it is a case of the BB entried overwriting the Outlook contact data that would be fine too. What I really DO NOT want is for the Outlook entries to overwrite what I have in the BB.

Before I go ahead, does anyone have any insight into the best way to do this?

Thanks!

I do beleive your BES admin can the sync so the device wins, but turning on Wireless Sync will make both your contacts appear in the same spot.

I would simply find the time to go threw the Outlook contacts.

You mean turn on the sync and then delete out the duplicates in Outlook? Unless I am misunderstanding your advise, I will go ahead with this because my BES admin is not readily accessible.

I would actually organize your contacts first then turn on the wireless sync, either way I would go threw and organize your contacts.

It will just make it easier for you further down the line.
