Default How do I change SIM cards for a new service provider

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone know how I can change SIM cards and still get my Blackberry working when I move from the USA ( t-Mobile ) to AUstralia ( Telstra ).

I use two different phone numbers and two different email addresses. My Blackberry is a T-Mobile 7730.

Ideally I want to just seamlessly switch SIM cards .

First you will have to get your T-Mobile BlackBerry "unlocked". Contact T-Mobile and tell them you are moving and you need to have your BB unlocked.

Then, make sure you new Telstra account has BlackBerry Data Service included. Does Telstra support BWC? Are you going to be using BES or BWC? If BWC, then make sure that T-Mobile releases the PIN/IMEI on their BWC and you can have it registered on Telstra's.

It can be done - but get the BB unlocked in the first step.

I use BWC , so I guess T-Mobile will unlock the BB and give me the PIN as well . Give them a try , thanks for the help.

my son just reminded me that he bought a Blackberry on Ebay but never registered it with T-Mobile for a service plan. In fact I think it is still in an unopened box.

Will we still call them to get it working in AUstralia ?.

If it is from T-Mobile, it is SIM card locked to them. You must get it unlocked first.
