Question MDS Activation problem

Please Login to Remove!

I setup MDS server, and also installed MDS runtime on HH. When I tried to active MDS on HH using "http://servername:7080/mds", it said "Activation Error" and "MDS Server Failure". But I found MDS server is running well, also I have already deployed application from MDS Studio to MDS.

Anyone can give me suggestion? thanks a lot!

I don't know anything about MDS, but....

On my 8800, under Advanced Options --> Browser, I have a setting for MDS Browser Configuration which can be set to either Internet or BlackBerry. In our environment the BlackBerry browser routes through our company network, so I would assume any MDS Browser Configuration would have to go through the BlackBerry Browser.

Maybe that's it?

Did you use the FQDN of the MDS server?

Can you open a browser at your desk and reach the mds server?

Yes. I used FQDN name. I re-installed MDS runtime. And now when I tried to active MDS, I got "Activatoin Error" on HH. And I got following error "[ERROR] (04/04 17:30:19) [DeviceInitListener] Device registration listener. | Device registration failed. | DevicePIN=2049e515; AppURI=rim.net/mds/systemmessages; Exception=Application not found.;"

Any idea?

How did you install the MDS Runtime on the device? based on the error, I would try deleting the app and reinstalling. I had a problem using an OTA install, but using the app loader, I was fine.

And make sure you use the right/latest version of the Mdsruntime.alx = 15 August 2006 1:44 PM should be time stamp on it.

perhaps give it a whirl?

1. I install MDS runtime by app loader.
2. version is exactly like what you input.

any other suggestion?

Default problem solved!

here's the way:

Try to look at the registered device for MDS in BB Manager. If the device was registered before at this BES, it should be appeared in there. If yes, try to delete that device and try to register again.

Solved!
