Default A way to extend 9000 battery life

Please Login to Remove!

I just figured out a way for extending 9000 nattery life.

I did :

Set screen brightness to 10

Set backlight to 20 seconds
Set Auto off from 11:00pm to 6:00am (2.31, costs $5.95).
Used Autostandby: 20 seconds after screen blanks

Clean memory when standby to closing the programs running background

set Standby Permissions --User Data to deny (off). You can still receive calls or SMS. Whenever your standby is not inactive, emaill data can be read in.

Called 25-40 minutes/day, used internet ~10minutes.

Charged battery every 3 days.

Pretty happy with it.

Wirelessly posted (Mandizzle's Bold 9000)

Solid tutorial. Don't think I could handle my screen brightness being @ 10. But 3 days of not having to charge battery is impressive.

What do you mean by:
set Standby Permissions --User Data to deny (off). You can still receive calls or SMS. Whenever your standby is not inactive, emaill data can be read in.

Thanks,

I have always just gotten in the habit of charging any of my phones each night as I am not willing to do things like brightness at 10 when I like seeing that beauty at 100. Like anything else its what you prefer. It takes me about 7 seconds or less to plug in my bold and say night night.

I have found the best way to extend 9000 battery life!! I use a 1650mAh extended life battery from Seidio! It doesn't give a huge boost, but it does give me that "safety net" of extra life if I'm caught somewhere without a charger and need it.

Plus, I totally agree with dwella. I put my Bold in it's charging pod on my bedstand each night, and it's no big deal. I always have a fresh, full charge every morning...and all is right with the world. I don't want to turn down my screen brightness, because I like it set at 100, so I can enjoy the great display. I want to leave WiFi on all the time. I want to leave my backlight on as long as I want it to be on. I don't set my phone to turn off overnight...because I want it on. All these things are possible if I charge every night. Why is that such a huge deal?

Can you provide instructions on how to do:
"Used Autostandby: 20 seconds after screen blanks

Clean memory when standby to closing the programs running background

set Standby Permissions --User Data to deny (off)."

Thanks.

I agree. I want to be able to see the quality picture. Its not worth is to set mine that low to save battery but I do set my backlight timeout at 10 seconds to help.

Ditto that, I don't sweat the battery drain. I just charge it at bedtime!

I'm with the others on here that top off their charge every night. Why would I care if my battery lasts three days when I can just top if off every night while I'm sleeping or driving?

If I ever go on a three day trek through a desert I'll be sure to keep this tutorial in mind. Otherwise, I like a bright screen and email and wifi and etc. Even when my Bold was new and I was fiddling with it all day long I didn't have an issue with battery life.

Well when your battery dies 3 times faster you will realize it just wasn't to save charging time it was also to save the life of the battery. I am a nightly charger as well and I have my car charger but nothing pisses me off more then going out for the weekend with my GF and forgetting my charger. It's a panic attack half way to the cottage realizing you have no charger and you're in her car with no car adapter. If you don't have a charger you are screwed or your up ice fishing on the lake for 3 days. Believe me there is a good reason to have phones last more then 1 day. What if your car breaks down your stuck in the woods..... shall I go on?

Might not want to belittle someone trying to help give some tips for us people that do enjoy them. No one is going to the desert here but a days charge is pathetic for a device. It give no room for error you better charge it or you up the creek.

Good information. Thanks for sharing. Most of the time I'm around an outlet and can just plug in my phone and charge it up (my charger is almost always with me). However, it's good to have this information handy for when I travel and am not consistently near a outlet.

Caspan, I wasn't belittling anyone, I was just stating my opinion. I'm also not sure what you are all doing that drains your phone completely in less that 24 hours. I use mine constantly for messaging/email/etc and at the end of the night I'm typically still at three bars.

If you use it alot, charge at home, in car and at work. Always remember your car charger
