Alt + rt shift + del simply reboots the device. It's like a battery pull. Try pulling the battery and see what happens.

I just wiped the whole device and lost everything... oh well at least my phone isnt a brick. Question: Why is my file free at 17299140 ? Should it not be higher?

Well then you were doing something else and rebooted it at a bad time - like installing a new O/S............AGAIN.......LEAVE IT ALONE until you understand what you are doing......the 8310 is fine as low as 8mb then it will start to suffer depending on the app/task......

What were you really doing when you rebooted?

ummm...NO........that does not cause that.......why would you do a wipe? That's like doing a install on a desktop when you just need a restart?

List exactly what you were doing from when it worked until now so we can see where you were...

Okay I was sending a text msg, then I went to change my Calendar entries. Went to my home screen noticed the OS was getting slow so I thought ALT + RIGHT SHIFT + DEL brought up all my open programs but instead shut off my phone. I then turned it back on, saw the error as well as the lack of messaging app then tried a battery pull 3 times....same result all 3 times. I then Wiped my device and now im hastily putting 89 contacts back into my phone.
