Please use the SEARCH feature! There is no SKYPE client available for the B. There was one in Beta early last year but then SKYPE ran into legal problems and nothing has surfaced since.

There is also no VoIP client out there for the BB that I am aware of.

Vonage has BB voip. I have Vonage for the house and received an email on it a while back. I took a quick look and had no need for it so I didn't get into it.

Check out Vonage.com if you think you have a need for it.

Learn something every day. However, it seems it is only for International calls and would still use your mobile minutes.

shapeservices.com is coming out with a version of im+ for skype that has voip capability shortly. They just ended the beta test on it, and it should be released imminently.

Skype to go is a good way to save money on international calls. But it doesn't change the fact that you're using minutes to make the calls.

What people are looking for is pure Skype via data with no minutes used. Also people want the Skype messaging.

For the same functionality as Skype to go, Google Voice seems to have much better international rates.

It's a shame really, it would be nice to have Skype on my BB 9700.

My provider gives free Skype for life (will not come out of my data allowance)

I completely forgot about this post,

I also should not have been half asleep composing it, with the subject "this" skype available.

I hope skype pulls through though, it would really be nice to have the functionailty of skype over data.

I had setup skype on my wifes iphone and she is constantly abusing the voice over data feature making calls to family daily, I mean hours at a time.

What's the point? It clearly says on the site that it uses your airtime minutes from your provider...

I am using iSkoot for Skype on my 9700, and used it on 8310 before.

Communication quality is not the same as on the computer, but it is SO convenient. It does, however, use the airtime.

Calling from bb is free (don't forget that you ARE using your minutes). Receiving calls on bb requires Skype credits that must be purchased. So my contact send me a Skype message and I call them back.
