Hi,
I'm in DESPERATE need of help. I have a BB curve 8310 OS version 4.2. I live in Europe, in Switzerland, and my BBM wasnt working at all. When I contacted my phone company they told me to completely earase the application from my device and download the BB Desktop Manager to my computer so as the Firmware that goes with my device. I have done all of this, and I have launched the BB application loader. Every thread i've read has told me that a box that says BB MESSENGER should show up... but it doesnt. i've tried uninstalling the softwares and re-installing them again several times, still no succes in reinstalling bbm on my phone. then, i read a thread that said that i had to delete a file called vendor.xml from my computer. i did that too, and still no success.. everytime i launch the application loader, nothing comes up. All see on the screen is : "no software is available for your device". I tried even downloading BBM from the blackberry.com site, it doesnt let me either since my version is a 4.2!
PLEASE HELP ME, THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR DAYS AND IM DESPERATE TO GET MY BBM GOING!!

What version of the BlackBerry operating system did you install? Note: I am not referring to the Desktop Manager, but the BlackBerry operating system installation file.

thats what my phone company told me to install... because when i went on the site, i saw 2 OS.. I tried with both, none work

Try installing Desktop Manager v4.5 to the computer to see if that helps.

Thanks, i've found out why it wasnt working actually i was installing the wrong software. everything works well now! I just have one question, BBM works with all BBs all over the world? I mean i should be able to use it with someone in the states or in asia right?
