OK, so I love the video capability of my Pearl and will soon be hawking my Ipod Video on Ebay.

One thing I wanted to have with the Ipod and I now want with the Pearl is the ability to encrypt or password protect or hide some of the media.

For example, I have some TV Shows like the Sopranos that I don't want my kid watching on my phone while others like the kids shows I put on the phone are fine.

My 8 year old is pretty smart and mostly honest but I would like to be able to give her the phone while driving down the road and not worry that she will play some video I don't want her to see

So, I thought it would be slick if I could simply zip up or password protect the media I want to and leave the rest unprotected. I could even put it in it's own folder which seems to be supported by the Pearl, so I could get by with a way to protect an entire folder.

Any ideas?

How smart is she? If you make a new folder on your media card, you can store stuff in it and it won't show up in media. You can store whatever you want in it and the only way you can access it with the pearl is to go to media, hit the menu button and select Explore to find the folder. So this might work until she finds the Explore option.

New folder, or massive amounts of new folders is the only thing you can do... or well that's what I think is the only thing you can do .

Thing is, she will be more interested in watching the next kids show instead of screwing with the menus.

Still would like to see a way to password protect files on the Pearl, seems like this is something the BB would do in by default with all the security that BB seems to build into the OS.
