I would image that there are several different groups of developers at RIM so the connection is unlikely. I am sure with the millions of users that BB has that they are just wanting to make the released OS the best it can be at the moment.

I recently went from 4.5.018 to .37, and saw a big increase in reliability. While I found .18 to actually be pretty good, it seemed to get very slow very quickly, leading to many battery pulls. With .037, it seems like memory leaks have been patched up. With .18 I was unable to view any youtube videos, and now I can get about 50% to work.

I like the progress they are making!

hmm... we have the same phone and the same provider. Any specific settings you are using in either media player or BB browser? What emulation mode are you using?

If you are not the intended person or company to have the software then yes that is piracy.

Just because half the BB community is running it doesnt mean that the community is supposed to have it. The download links are from individuals posting the software not RIM

4.5.0.18 sucks but it's just way too good to go back to 4.2.1.109...

thx in advance,
