Default Upgrading To The Bold 9900

Please Login to Remove!

I'm about to upgrade my BB from a 9700 to the new 9900. It's a company phone and as such is linked to BESx. Can someone tell me how to go about going through the upgrade process to move to the 9900. Is it a case of deleting the 9700 in BESx and then adding the 9900 in its place or is there another way of doing things?

I have media (music, pics etc) currently on the micro SD card in the 9700.

When I upgrade to a new device, I do nothing other than wireless Enterprise Activation. BES automatically switches me to the new device and most of my settings, preferences, and other things are automatically restored to the new device. I don't use Desktop Manager at all.

If you try to have IT delete your old item out of BES before you switch, I think you'd lose out on that automatic backup/restore feature of BES. But maybe you want that in some cases to start with a "clean slate."
