I hated the 9800...went back to the 9700 and now the 9780. I love the 97xx series.

Coming from the 9000, the 9800 to me is the best of both worlds, touch-key board.

Yes! I went from 9700 to 9780 and my step daughter has a 9800 and the big screen is nice but you can't beat the 9780 with the new OS.

If you can sacrifice the bigger screen, go for it. I played with my friend's 9800 before, and still ended up going with the 9780.

I had the 9800 for a week then I couldn't live with the low battery and the crappy slider keyboard as it was too flat for typing. So I returned it at CompUSE at Emirates MAll and got a full refund then got me a 9700 and i'm happier then ever with OS 6 on it
So yes definately get the 9780 it is way uch better

I played around with a 9800 at a local store and thought the keyboard was really difficult to type on because it's flat. A friend who has one said it was the same keyboard as the 9700. It's not.

I thought it was ok when I tried it at the store. But when you actually take it home and type hardcore on it. You realize how many mistakes you make and you can't get used to it. The virtual keyboard is not my style, and the flat keyboard makes me always press dobule keys instead of one. utter crap.

Did I forget to mention the battery life being crappy compared to a BOLD?

Well I bought a 9780 and because of the stupid weather they didn't deliver it. I'm not too pleased as I sold off my 9700. I dont think the 9800 is for me. I'm really not keen on a slider at all.

I just got my 9780 in the mail today and installed the current software available here on the site. Only complaint I have is, a LOT of the apps are still not working for OS6 yet and that REALLY pisses me off! Other than that, OMG this thing runs soooo much better than my old 9700! Worth every penny!

I just bought my 9780 from Jacky's in City Center for USD 599

I had a 9700 before this and I thought that they both looked the same. But the keyboard is much softer and easier to type on ! The buttons are not so hard they act more like the CURVE keyboard which is the best!

I am very impressed with my device!

I'm lovin my 9700 with 6.0...the form factor of the Bold blows the 9800 out of the water, and the 9800 build quality is to be blunt..Crappy! I Would go for the 9780 with out a doubt!

Agreee, had a Torch before and returned it after a week! The keyboard and battery are utter crap.

PS: Why does you profile say that you have a 9800? Change it please

I'm using my 9780 now. I really do like it. You know what this is? This is what the 9700 should have been in the first place. All the niggles and problems of the 9700 have been addressed with this release. Kind of reminds me of windows vista and windows 7.

Wow they actually took it back and offered you a refund after a week?

Unheard of in the Middle East - do you mean CompuME? Or some other store? Thanks!
