I wish I could move away from a BB...but with the BES, it's impossible for us. Nothing works quite as well as a BES, but the carriers all gouge us with ridiculous, costly data plans. No wonder RIM now gives the BES away - they're raking in so damn much on monthly revenue...it's probably one of their single fattest profit streams. I'd go Android in a heartbeat, as the choices are broad and likely to broaden even wider shortly, with a ton of lightweight apps. I'm sure I could easily find a replacement for my 9780 in the Android based phones...but again...it's not BES.

My problem with Android is that it is a bit too open and hackable for my liking. I prefer the solid OS from RIM.

A bit too hackable is sort of like a little pregnant, right? For me, a little is already too much.

I was trying to be nice, but I agree. Over time the OS will be a convoluted mess, IMHO.

Battery life doesn't seem any different between my 9700 with OS6 and my 9780...

Up until recently I was using windows mobile...tried droid for about a month. It was a mistake to say the least.

I now have a BB Bold 9700 (I'm a first time BB user) and love it. I will get a new Bold 9780 in about a month (the current one is a loaner). It helps to have a friend in the cell business. He lets me try and then buy.

I'm a loyal BB fan now and as the others said our enemy friend will be back.

BES is great too!

You will surely be back VANDAL. And pretty sooner then you think.

All the best though.

I've had multiple android, iOS and many berry's. For business, blackberry is still best. iOS 4 is very competitive though and has a lot more exchange support. The BES servers are so slow these days too that emails come quicker on iOS through exchange. Email is still better with blackberry. Let alone android. Unless you're 100% google services and don't like better versions of apps and hardware andoird still isn't there.
