will it ever truly be "push" as we have come to know and love. A futile atempt at the title of grand e-amil champ...

Yes, push for the Treos was announced two years ago at the BlackBerry Wireless Enterprise Symposium. Or was it three years ago. I keep forgetting.

Off Topic...
Blackcrack your avatar is mesmerizing...
This is the second time I have stared at it for some time now.
On Topic...
Even if they get Blackberry Connect on Treo, I will not consider that as an option because of the buggy nature of the Treo. Just for the record, I was a TREO user for 2 years before coming to the blackberry world, I am more than happy now.

I have a Treo 650 plus an 8700C. The Treo has some great functionality but its receiver is very poor.

I say we just BAN anyone who says treo. I am just kidding. Treos had the right idea, just poor quality in my opinion.
Does this mean I have to ban myself now?

Complexity kills. What keeps the BB strong in the market is the "KISS" commitment.
When you have a device that does too much stuff... it can never really do anything well. When you put a camera, mp3 player, media player, email, web, phone, organizer, gps, games, flashy screen and visual effects.. you lose out on being strong at one feature.
It reminds me of the home audio business. You can get the all in one stereo with tape player, cd, speakers, tuner, mp3, etc. or you go go for the components to do one thing well.
The blackberry is like the email/phone component. If you want a digital camera or Mp3 player, get a seperate unit which will out perform the Treo's hands down.

The push email update is the AKU2.0 ROM that has been released since feb on a lot of pocket pc phones, it stil uses activesync and just triggers activesync using a direct http connection instead of an sms trigger, still nothing compared to blackberry...especially when your treo700w is booting up and has 9MB of free RAM...

yeah right, we are talking about the device that has to be re-booted usually 2 or more times a day?
I bet a "pushed" email would knock it down

This post should be renamed from "Palm Treos to get push email" to "stylus sales about to rocket with reboots from angry users"!!!!!!!

Your off topic got my attention too haha
and I am on the same boat as you regarding the treo's, Darn thing locks up all the time and ends up rebooting. I used it for few years as well, I cannot be happier than I am with my 8700c

Treo sucks! Seriously though...I was in the process of syncing up my Treo650...just for a little change. I quickly realized how stupid I was of even thinking of going back after it rebooted 3 times as I was re-configuring it...BB ROCKS!!

I converted from a 650. Treos are ridiculously unstable compared to BBs, the only things I miss nowadays are a touch screen and the ability to edit word and excel documents...

I have a T-mobile MDA running the AKU2 and connected to an exchange server. My home email server forwards my mail to the Blackberry address AND the exchange address, and I get it on the MDA before it arrives on the Blackberry. This is finally a REAL push solution.

It's actually a PULL solution not PUSH. The handhelds, with AKU2, constantly polls the Exchange server for updates - be it new emails, status changes, etc. - and pulls them down the handheld. This is the leading reason for battery drain on AKU2-enabled handsets (not that WM5 wasn't bad enough).
